New Delhi, July 2 -- India and Japan on Thursday agreed to strengthen energy security cooperation through regional initiatives, including Japan's Partnership on Wide Energy and Resources Resilience (POWERR Asia), while launching the India-Japan Cooperative Biogas for Growth (CBG) Initiative to expand biogas production and advance clean energy collaboration.

The announcements were made in the joint statement issued following the 16th India-Japan Annual Summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.
