Ramban, Aug. 23 -- Heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning lashed several parts of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, prompting district administrations to issue safety advisories.

In Ramban district, intense downpours and lightning were reported in different parts of the district. Taking precautionary measures, the Ramban district administration issued an alert, advising residents--especially those living in upper reaches and in close proximity to rivers, streams, and other water bodies--to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel during the inclement weather.

Simultaneously, rain lashed several parts of the neighbouring Udhampur district, bringing down temperatures and causing wet conditions across the region.
