Haryana Women Commission takes suo motu cognisance of alleged repeated sexual assault of 12-year-old in Panipat, seeks police action
Chandigarh, July 31 -- The Haryana State Commission for Women (HSCW) has taken suo motu cognisance of an alleged case of repeated sexual assault involving a 12-year-old girl in Panipat and directed the district police to initiate immediate legal action in the matter.
In a communication issued on Friday to the Superintendent of Police, Panipat, and the Station House Officer of Camp Police Station, the Commission said it had received information regarding allegations that the minor girl was repeatedly sexually assaulted over an extended period. The alleged accused in the case include the child's stepmother and brother.
