Guwahati's LGBI Airport advances water sustainability through integrated rainwater harvesting, utilisation initiative
Guwahati, Aug. 13 -- Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBI Airport), Guwahati, in line with its sustainability agenda, has strengthened its focus on rainwater harvesting and utilisation through an integrated water management approach across the airport ecosystem, according to a media release by the airport.
Guwahati receives approximately 1,800-2,200 mm of rainfall annually, making rainwater one of the airport's most valuable natural resources. The airport has already received approximately 1,320 mm of rainfall till 9 August 2026, presenting a significant opportunity to transform rainwater from a runoff management challenge into a sustainable source of water.
