Gandhinagar, Aug. 24 -- Gujarat Police to add 500 new, state-of-the-art 112 'Janrakshak' vehicles to its fleet for citizen safety and emergency response, taking the total number of such vehicles operating across the state to 1,000.

Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi will flag off the 500 additional 'Janrakshak' vehicles from the New Secretariat on August 25. The vehicles will operate round-the-clock for emergency services across the state.

Under the new system, the Janrakshak vehicle nearest to the incident site will be dispatched to provide immediate assistance. Considering the state's growing population, urban expansion, and geographical area, additional vehicles are being deployed to strengthen the emergency response system.
