Gandhinagar, Aug. 6 -- In a major governance reform aimed at enhancing transparency and accountability in the Panchayati Raj system, the Gujarat government has made it mandatory to conduct an 'Exit Conference' immediately after the completion of annual audits of Gram Panchayats, Taluka Panchayats and District Panchayats.

The decision, taken under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, seeks to ensure swift action against financial irregularities, administrative lapses and corruption in local self-government institutions, while strengthening the protection of public funds.
