New Delhi, May 29 -- Seeking to strengthen the party in Goa, the Congress on Friday appointed party leader Girish Chodankar as chief of the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC). Girish Chodankar has held various organisational responsibilities.

The appointments were approved by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge.

"Congratulations @girishgoaINC for being appointed as @INCGoa President," Congress said in a post on X.

The party also named three working presidents for the Goa unit - MK Shaikh, Altone D'Costa, and Carlos Alvares Ferriera.

Datta D Naik has been appointed as the treasurer of the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee.
