New Delhi, Aug. 20 -- From a new maritime security pact and greater naval coordination to defence technology cooperation, joint shipbuilding and the expansion of the Indo-Pacific Logistics Network, India and Japan on Thursday unveiled a broad roadmap to take their defence partnership into new domains, with a focus on a free and open Indo-Pacific.

The developments came during Japanese Defence Minister Shinjiro Koizumi's two-day maiden visit to India and his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in the national capital.
