Haldia, June 30 -- A fire broke out at a pipeline of Haldia Petrochemicals in West Bengal's Purba Medinipur district on Tuesday, officials said.

Further details regarding the cause of the fire, any casualties or the extent of damage are awaited.

In a similar incident, another massive fire erupted at a chemical manufacturing unit located in Dhir Khera village of Meerut district, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday, sending thick plumes of toxic smoke into the sky.
