A late strike from Mikel Merino sunk Portugal 1-0 and handed Spain a ticket to the quarterfinals. However, one of the most underrated performers of the match was Spanish goalie Unai Simon, who stood unbeaten for 90 minutes and helped his side register its fifth successive clean sheet of the tournament.
