Mexico City, July 6 -- Jordan Henderson will remain in Mexico City after suffering a serious wrist injury during celebrations following the Three Lions' FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 16 victory over co-hosts Mexico, according to Sky Sports.

The Football Association confirmed that Henderson will not travel back to Kansas City with the rest of the England squad and will instead stay in Mexico City alongside a member of the team's medical staff, the report said.

England head coach Thomas Tuchel had earlier revealed that Henderson sustained a "serious wrist injury" after England's dramatic 3-2 victory over Mexico.
