Moscow, Aug. 24 -- Highlighting that a free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and India will serve as a "new driver of sustainable trade growth," Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov on Monday emphasised the need to diversify trade structures beyond traditional fuel and fertiliser supplies as bilateral trade surged by 8% in the first half of 2026.

Co-chairing the 27th session of the Russian-Indian Intergovernmental Commission (IRIGC-TEC) alongside External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in Moscow, Manturov stated that expanding trade volumes must go hand-in-hand with structural diversification.
