Bengaluru, Aug. 23 -- Teen prodigy and Indian opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Ishan Kishan had dissappointing outings during the Duleep Trophy campaign opener for East Zone on Sunday.

Making his Duleep Trophy debut against North East Zone, Sooryavanshi, the East Zone vice-captain, fell for just eight runs in six balls, with two fours. Skipper Kishan, on the other hand, fell for just four runs.

East Zone ended the Lunch session at 138/5, with Sudip Kumar Gharami unbeaten at 54. Kumar Kushagra also contributed an attacking 55 in 65 balls, with nine fours.

North East Zone won the toss and opted to field first against East Zone, with the latter featuring some of the most prominent domestic/Indian stars like Kishan, Sooryavanshi, Abhimanyu ...
