Chennai, Sept. 24 -- National Film Award winner Dhanush has postponed the release date of his upcoming film 'OM: Chapter 1' to avoid a box-office clash with superstar Rajinikanth and actor Suriya's films.

Dhanush penned a long note on his X handle to announce the delay of his upcoming film 'OM: Chapter 1'. It was slated to release in theatres on October 16.

Prior to the postponement, the film was bound to have a box office clash with Rajinikanth's upcoming sequel 'Jailer 2'. The film is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and also stars Vidya Balan in the lead role. The movie is slated to release in theatres on October 15.
