New Delhi, April 25 -- During a match in the Indian Premier League 2026, Lungi Ngidi, pacer of Delhi Capitals, suffered a head injury while playing against Punjab Kings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

DCP Traffic Nishant Gupta said that immediate action was taken by Delhi Police to ensure swift medical assistance to the player.

"As soon as Delhi Police got information that a player, Lungi Ngidi, was injured, we spoke to the control room, created a green corridor and cleared the way for BL Kapoor. When we came to know that the ambulance drivers did not know the route of BL Kapoor, ACP Traffic Central District Sanjay Singh took the lead and guided the ambulance, covering a distance of nine kilometres in just eleven minutes," he said.
