New Delhi, Aug. 6 -- The Consultative Committee of Members of Parliament attached to the Ministry of Coal met on Wednesday to discuss "Commercial Coal Mining Reforms and Leveraging Private Sector Participation."

The meeting was chaired by Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy. Secretary, Ministry of Coal Vikram Dev Dutt, senior officials of the Ministry and coal public sector undertakings (PSUs), along with members of the committee, also attended the meeting.

In his opening remarks, Reddy said commercial coal mining was one of the shining examples of many reforms introduced under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last 12 years.
