New Delhi, July 28 -- Congress MP Manickam Tagore on Tuesday submitted an Adjournment Motion notice in the Lok Sabha seeking an urgent discussion on the Union Government's stand regarding construction activities across the Cauvery River and the protection of Tamil Nadu's legal rights and farmers' interests in the backdrop of the proposed Mekedatu project in Karnataka.

In his notice, Tagore termed the issue a "matter of urgent public importance" and expressed concern over the Centre's recent reply regarding the proposed Mekedatu project.
