Bathinda, April 12 -- Congress MP Charanjit Singh Channi on Sunday expressed sorrow on the demise of legendary singer Asha Bhosle.

Speaking to reporters, "This is very sad news... She was known as a 'Koyal'. I am deeply saddened", he said.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also condoled the demise of legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle, remembering her as one of India's most iconic and versatile voices whose music enriched the country's cultural heritage for over eight decades.
