Tijuana, May 27 -- Club Tijuana, a local football club based in the Mexican city of Tijuana, expressed "great pride" at hosting Iran's national football team during the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 after the side shifted its training base from the United States to Mexico amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.

Iran's team will now stay in Tijuana, near the US border, while continuing to play its FIFA World Cup 2026 matches in the United States during the tournament, which will be jointly hosted by the US, Mexico and Canada from June 11 to July 19.
