New Delhi, Oct. 21 -- Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) activists Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka on Wednesday withdrew their petition before the Delhi High Court challenging a Special Executive Magistrate's (SEM) order extending their judicial custody till October 21.

Justice Subramonium Prasad permitted the withdrawal after suggesting that the petitioners await the outcome of proceedings before the SEM court, which was scheduled to reconsider the sureties furnished by them at 2 pm on Wednesday.

The High Court clarified that it had not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case.
