New Delhi, Aug. 18 -- The Centre has conveyed to Meta that safe harbour protections will not be available to individuals or persons involved in violations related to child sexual abuse material (CSAM), while stressing that the government has exercised only those powers available under the existing legal and statutory framework, government sources told ANI.

The government has also conveyed to Meta that its content moderation mechanisms need to demonstrate greater sensitivity to India's linguistic and cultural context rather than relying solely on global standards, sources said.
