Bhubaneshwar, Sept. 1 -- West Bengal's in-charge Census Director Nikhil Pawan Kalyan on Tuesday expressed confidence in the timely completion of the first phase of the house-listing census in West Bengal, stating that the enumeration of all households will be completed by September 14.

Speaking to ANI, Nikhil Kalyan noted that nearly two lakh enumerators were engaged in Phase 1 of the census in West Bengal. He further mentioned that following the completion of the house-listing phase, the second phase of the census will begin in the state from February 2027.
