New Delhi, Aug. 22 -- Bharat PetroResources Limited recently completed the successful acquisition of Videocon's entire shareholding in IBV Brasil Petroleo Limitada (IBV), its erstwhile Brazilian joint venture company.

Following this transaction, the company confirmed that IBV became a wholly owned step-down subsidiary of the enterprise and took on the new name of BPRL Brasil Limitada. The upstream firm is an arm of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, a Fortune Global 500 entity and a Maharatna public sector undertaking.

The formal change in name received official approval and registration from relevant Brazilian authorities on August 19, 2026, according to an official press release.
