Shimla, Sept. 2 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday staged a protest outside the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, accusing the Congress government of failing to fulfil its promises on employment and government jobs.

The protest was held on the sidelines of the ongoing Monsoon Session of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly, with BJP leaders and workers raising slogans against the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led government over what they termed its failure to create adequate employment opportunities in the state.

The BJP alleged that the Congress had promised to provide one lakh government jobs in its first Cabinet meeting after assuming power and had subsequently committed to providing five lakh jobs during its five-year tenure....
