New Delhi, Sept. 2 -- The production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for automobiles and auto components has attracted Rs 45,477 crore in investment and generated more than 67,000 jobs as of June 30, 2026, Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel HD Kumaraswamy said on Wednesday.

Addressing the 66th Annual Session of the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), Kumaraswamy said the next phase of India's automotive growth must focus on building scale, deeper localisation, innovation and making the country a global hub for advanced and green mobility technologies.
