Sydney, June 30 -- In a major cultural prelude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming visit to Australia, one of Sydney's leading art museums, "The Art Gallery of New South Wales", has unveiled a landmark exhibition celebrating Hindu iconography.

Australia's High Commissioner to India, Philip Green, said that the gallery is currently hosting "Avatar: Forms of Vishnu," a sweeping exhibition dedicated entirely to the Hindu deity responsible for preserving cosmic order.

He noted that the showcase, on view until October 2026, presents 200 works ranging from ancient sculptures to contemporary art.
