Athapaththu says Sri Lanka 'struggled' against India in Women's Asia Cup final
Dubai, Sept. 13 -- Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu acknowledged that her side did not produce their best performance in the Asia Cup final against India but backed the team to bounce back at the upcoming Asian Games 2026, set to take place from September 17 to September 22 in Japan.
Sri Lanka suffered a 72-run defeat against India in the summit clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday. After India posted 183/5, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 111 in 20 overs as Sree Charani and Deepti Sharma combined to claim seven wickets.
