Imphal, Sept. 12 -- In a major counter-insurgency operation, Assam Rifles apprehended three cadres of the United Socialist Revolutionary Army (USRA) in the general area of Munpi Village in Manipur's Churachandpur district between September 10 and September 11.

The arrested USRA cadres have been identified as Khual, a resident of Munpi Village; Money Chiru (30), a resident of Nungrai Village, Bishnupur District; and Thanglalmuan (25), a resident of Nghathal Village, Churachandpur District.

During the search operation, security forces recovered a substantial cache of arms, ammunition, and military gear from their possession.
