Aichi-Nagoya, Sept. 26 -- Indian boxer Kapil Pokhariya advanced to the quarterfinals of the men's 91kg category after defeating Iran's Sam Estaki in the round of 16 bout at the Asian Games 2026 on Saturday.

Kapil produced a dominant performance to secure a 5-0 victory over Estaki in a one-sided contest.

The Indian boxer made a confident start and took control of the bout from the opening round, winning 4-1. Despite Estaki having a height advantage, Kapil landed the better punches and continued to dictate the pace.

Kapil carried the momentum into the second round, where he once again outperformed his Iranian opponent to secure a unanimous 5-0 score from the judges.
