Aichi-Nagoya, Oct. 1 -- Indian archer Chikitha Taniparthi suffered a narrow one-point defeat against Indonesia's Nurisa Dian Ashrifah in the compound women's individual quarter-finals at the Asian Games 2026 on Thursday, bringing an end to her campaign in the event.

Chikitha, who had won two gold medals on Wednesday as part of India's successful compound team campaign, went down 143-144 in a closely fought contest, according to ESPN.

The Indian appeared to be in contention for a place in the semi-finals after taking the lead, but a costly eight in the final end proved decisive. Nurisa held her nerve to finish with 144 points and advance to the last four.
