Mumbai, Aug. 27 -- Apple has officially introduced ads on Apple Maps, with the new feature set to roll out more widely in the coming weeks.

According to 9to5Mac, they're marked with a blue "ad" icon, similar to the ads Google's had in its Maps app for years now.

There are two places where one will find ads in the Maps app:

Before searching: Suggested Places in the search screen will feature an ad.

After searching: Ads will appear in search results when relevant.

Ads on Maps builds on Apple's broader privacy-first approach to advertising, and maintains the same privacy protections Maps users enjoy today. A user's location and the ads they see and interact with in Maps are not associated with a user's Apple Account. Personal data stays...
