Palnadu, Aug. 27 -- Seven people were killed on the spot, and two others sustained critical injuries after a private travel bus collided with an auto-rickshaw near Adda Road in Chilakaluripet of Andhra Pradesh's Palnadu district on Thursday.

According to preliminary information, the private travel bus was heading from Vijayawada towards Chennai when it rammed into an auto-rickshaw carrying passengers who were travelling from Konda Manjuru to Vellore to attend a function when the accident occurred.

Upon receiving information about the collision, local police, along with 108 emergency ambulance personnel, rushed to the scene and shifted the injured individuals to a nearby hospital for treatment.
