Amravati, Aug. 25 -- The father of one of the three newborns who died in a fire at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of the District Women's Hospital in Amravati has demanded justice and strict action against those responsible for the tragedy.

Speaking to ANI, Swapnil Borge said his child was born at around 10 am on Monday and was taken to the hospital's upper floor shortly after the admission formalities were completed. He said the newborn was placed in the NICU, where babies were kept in glass enclosures.

Borge said his wife was admitted on a different floor while the newborn remained in the NICU. He recalled that the family was later asked to leave the hospital premises and sleep outside.
