Guwahati, April 7 -- As Assam approaches its crucial Assembly elections, the passport controversy has escalated, with incumbent MLA and Raijor Dal chief Akhil Gogoi on Tuesday sharply criticising Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma over the police raid at Congress leader Pawan Khera's Delhi residence. Gogoi condemned the state government's actions as authoritarian, likening them to a "Hitler-style government."
