New Delhi, Aug. 24 -- The Supreme Court on Tuesday will hear a plea filed by Trinamool Congress General Secretary and Lok Sabha MP Abhishek Banerjee challenging the delay in deciding the party's petitions seeking disqualification of 20 rebel MPs.

Banerjee has urged the apex court to ask the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to expeditiously decide the disqualification pleas pending before him.

The matter will come up for hearing before a bench of Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana.

The petition challenged the delay in taking a decision on the disqualification proceedings against the rebel MPs.
