New Delhi, Aug. 31 -- Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy on Monday hailed India's robust 7.8 per cent GDP growth in the first quarter of Financial Year 2026-27, describing it as a powerful testament to the resilience of the Indian economy and the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

India's real GDP growth has accelerated from 6.9% in Q1 of FY 2025-26 to 7.8% in Q1 of FY 2026-27, despite global uncertainties, oil price shocks and supply-chain disruptions. According to the release, Kishan Reddy said the figures demonstrate the strength of India's economic fundamentals and the collective resolve of the people of the country.
