Rameswaram, Feb. 26 -- A 3,375.35-kilometre walking yatra spanning nine states to educate the public on the importance of water, an essential natural resource, is nearing its completion after more than 100 days in Tamil Nadu's Rameswaram. The initiative, started by social activist Robin Singh, emphasises that despite water covering 71 per cent of the Earth, only three per cent is usable, underscoring the necessity for daily conservation efforts in agriculture, healthcare, and personal consumption.
According to the recommendations of the Indian Council of Medical Research, men should drink about 3 litres of water and women 2.2 to 2.5 litres of water daily.
