Kolkata, July 8 -- West Bengal Minister Agnimitra Paul on Tuesday said the police had acted promptly in the rape and murder case of a 12-year-old girl in Baruipur and all the accused were apprehended in 24 hours. She also accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of politicising the incident.

She also demanded the release of pending inquiry reports into incidents of crimes against women that took place during former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's tenure.
