Bhopal, July 19 -- Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah on Sunday welcomed the cabinet's approval of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) draft bill, stating that the proposed legislation will mark a new chapter for the country's citizens while strongly slamming the opposition Congress for allegedly misleading people regarding its impact on tribal customs.

Shah strongly dismissed objections raised by the opposition, clarifying that the UCC does not interfere with the customs, traditions, or lifestyle of tribal communities.
