New Delhi, Oct. 7 -- Congress MPs Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were detained by the Delhi Police as the opposition leaders staged a protest near Jantar Mantar against CEC Gyanesh Kumar over the alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.

Rahul Gandhi has been taken to the Barakhamba Road Police Station, while Priyanka was taken to Chatrsal Stadium Station.

Keralam CM VD Satheesan and Congress MP Kiran Kumar Chamala arrived outside Barakhamba Road Police Station.

"What is the value of the Constitution in this nation? We will lay down our lives for the Constitution. No cost is too high for us," Priyanka Gandhi told reporters while waving a copy of the Constitution from the police vehicle.
