Thiruvananthapuram, May 6 -- Following the Keralam Assembly election results, Communist Party of India (CPI) State Secretary Binoy Viswam on Wednesday admitted that the outcome was a clear defeat, but emphasised that the party would not dwell on it.

Addressing the media, Viswam said, "There is no other word for this except defeat. But we are not going to beat our chests and cry over it," acknowledging the party's loss but stressing the need for a thorough evaluation of the situation.

Viswam further noted that the result had surpassed the party's expectations and required a deeper understanding.
