Hyderabad, Sept. 24 -- Following the Supreme Court's rejection of Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender's petition regarding disqualification proceedings, Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy mounted a fierce counter-offensive against the BRS and BJP, accusing both opposition parties of selective outrage after having engineered wholesale defections themselves across states.

Nagender, who won the Khairatabad Assembly seat on a Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) ticket in late 2023, subsequently defected to the Congress and contested the Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat on a Congress ticket without resigning from his legislative assembly membership, triggering petitions under the anti-defection law.
