Washington DC, Oct. 17 -- Katie Zacharia on Friday (local time) said that "it was an honour to work for US President Donald Trump" after she was reportedly removed from the role of White House press secretary amid intense media scrutiny, after just five days on the job.

"President Trump is a kind, wonderful, gracious, thoughtful, enthusiastic, and hardworking man. I wish more Americans appreciated him. No one will ever make America great the way he has and continues to. It was an honour to work for him," Zacharia posted on X.

President Trump, speaking to reporters ahead of a rally in Georgia on Friday, said the press had treated Zacharia harshly and suggested that she reconsider continuing in the role.
