Mumbai, May 26 -- Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has clarified his recent remarks made around the casting of actor Deepika Padukone in the 2012 film 'Cocktail'.

The filmmaker shared a clip of his interview and expressed immense admiration for Deepika Padukone, explaining that he could never be mean to her.

I think you will never misunderstand my wannabe fun remarks because you more than anyone else know how much I love you, admire you, understand you, appreciate you... but I have been told you might misunderstand and be hurt.
