Tumakuru, Oct. 12 -- Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara on Sunday said it was natural for the public to express their wish for him to become Chief Minister, but stressed that the state already has a Chief Minister in office.

Responding to calls for him to be elevated to the post, Parameshwara further said that political parties function according to established conventions and structures.

"It is natural for Swamijis and the public to offer such blessings and express the sentiment that 'our Parameshwara should become Chief Minister'. The political arena operates under specific conventions and rules; a political party functions in a certain way, and things have already proceeded according to that structure," he said.
