New Delhi, May 28 -- Trinamool Congress General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Thursday criticised the central government after the latest SSC GD controversy, saying that this is a "systematic destruction of merit."

Banerjee, in an X post, said that after the CBSE irregularities and NEET-UG 2026 paper leak, the youth have again been pushed into a cycle of anxiety and betrayal with the Staff Selection Commission General Duty (SSC GD) recruitment controversy.

This comes after the SSC GD exam was embroiled in controversy due to last-minute paper cancellations, severe technical glitches, over-allocation of candidates at exam centres, and widespread allegations of paper leaks.
