New Delhi, July 15 -- Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa mourned the loss of legendary marathoner Fauja Singh, fondly remembered as the 'Turbaned Tornado,' who passed away on Monday at the age of 114 in a tragic road accident in his ancestral village in Punjab's Jalandhar district.

In a post on X, the Delhi minister on Monday remarked that at 114 years old, Singh demonstrated that age is merely a number.

"Deeply saddened by the passing of Fauja Singh ji, a symbol of unbreakable spirit, resilience, and timeless inspiration. At 114, he proved that age is just a number and purpose knows no limits. A legend not just in running, but in life. Rest in power, sir," Sirsa said in a post on X.
