"SC has remarkable opportunity to restore public confidence": Jairam Ramesh on plea seeking CEC's suspension
New Delhi, Oct. 5 -- Following the Supreme Court's hearing on a petition seeking the suspension of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Monday stated that the apex court has a "remarkable opportunity to restore public confidence" in the poll body, while noting that the bench has sought a reply without issuing any interim directions.
In a post on social media platform X, the Congress leader stated that the petition comes amid growing questions regarding the conduct of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and recent observations made by members of the judiciary.
