Colombo, Aug. 24 -- India wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel said Rishabh Pant is being closely monitored by the team physio after suffering pain in his right shoulder, but expressed hope that the senior player will be fit to keep wickets on the third day of the second Test against Sri Lanka.

Pant was dismissed for 63 on the second day after sharing a 112-run seventh-wicket partnership with Jurel. When Sri Lanka began their first innings after India declared at 503/9, Jurel took over the wicketkeeping duties in place of Pant.

"He has a hit on his right shoulder, and the physio is monitoring him closely. I kept today because he had some pain in his shoulder. Hopefully, he will be fit tomorrow," Jurel told the media after the day's play.
