'Parliament becoming a mockery': P Chidambaram attacks Centre over FCRA and delimitation issues
Chennai, Aug. 27 -- Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP on Thursday criticised the functioning of Parliament, alleging that no meaningful business took place during the Monsoon Session and accusing the Centre of passing Bills without adequate discussion.
Addressing a Congress meeting, Chidambaram said debates in state assemblies were more effective compared to Parliament and cited the Tamil Nadu Assembly as an example.
"After watching the proceedings of the Tamil Nadu Assembly, I sometimes feel that I should have been an MLA rather than an MP," he said.
